Raising taxes can be a good thing. Alcohol taxes that is.

A recent study out of University of Florida, revealed that the health of the people is greatly affected by the raising of alcohol taxes.

The state of Alaska, in 1983 raised their alcohol tax, and what followed was a 29% drop in alcohol-related deaths.  Again Alaska raised taxes on alcohol in 2002, and the health of the people improved, with an 11% drop in alcohol related deaths.  Less alcohol, longer life. Amazing.

So, raise those alcohol taxes, and improve peoples health.
